Explanation of additional comment notes:  This W3 company roll includes veterans who at an earlier time deployed with another subunit, assume this for people shown as 161 Bty, or rifle companies (V or W) not V4 V5 or W2.  Veterans shown as "also V4" or "also W2" are reinforcements to those Company's who had not completed a 12 month tour when that Company departed and who moved to W3 to finish their time.  Veterans shown as "also V5" are W3 reinforcements who could not complete a 12 month tour before W3 departed and who moved to V5 Company.  Some people were posted out for administrative reasons before their TOD was finished.

Notes on Veterans Roll  -  send corrections or further details here

This roll is compiled from six sources, each has inaccuracies or omissions.  The six sources are:

1.  Flinkenberg List, created by Capt C. Flinkenberg RNZA in 1972 from available records and edited again in 2002 by Jack Hayes as an EVSA [now VVNZA] project.  The list is made 'official' and searchable at this link: www.vietnamwar.govt.nz/
2.  the EVSA nominal roll provided for the 2005 W3 Reunion which contained the known locations of our comrades;  locations are updated when notified.
3 and 4.  the battalion histories of 6 and 2 RAR/NZ (ANZAC) which include nominal rolls but these can show people in another subunit, have inaccuracies in spelling or rank, or omit an individual altogether.
5.  Officer Commanding notes.
6.  peer observations or notes.

• In some cases the roll needs further detail of which part of W3 an individual served in, or where the individuals name and present location is missing or inaccurate. 

• There is an on-going project to collect photos of all our deceased veterans headstones, these are displayed by their names. 

• Further detail and photos of our reinforcements who later moved to another sub-unit is sought, as is those veterans who served in NZ Component, or another company of the battalion who would like to be associated with W3 at reunions or be on the W3 email list.  Associates are here. 

• Next of kin of deceased veterans are welcome to register their email address against their veteran's name to ensure contact is continued.
